This award recognises our commitment to building Australia’s most sustainable logistics company and our investment in emission-reducing technologies and vehicles.
Earlier this year, Team Global Express announced Australia’s largest EV truck trial in partnership with Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA), adding 60 electric vehicles to our fleet as well as 63 chargers and a 1MW battery to store surplus energy generated by 400 kilowatts of on-site solar panels, which also feed power into the national electricity grid.
Our initiatives have seen the equivalent of 60 trucks off the road every day, saving approximately 286 tonnes of CO2 per annum, with a goal of extending electric vehicles to one-third of our fleet, roughly 2,000 trucks.
We also continue to explore reductions in emissions using solar energy in our facilities, adopting environmentally sustainable designs, and utilising biodiesel fuels.
These efforts underline our commitment to sustainability, innovation, and leadership in the logistics sector, setting a benchmark for others to follow. Our dedication to sustainable practices is paving the way for a cleaner, more efficient future in transportation and logistics.
