Team Global Express has been named the Overall Winner for Impact and has also won the special award of Sustainability Leader – Large Organisation.

These awards recognise our commitment to sustainability and to progress for our industry, our customers, and the environment through our innovative ‘Depot of the Future’ project.

In 2023 we began transforming our Bungarribee depot into Australia’s first large-scale electric vehicle logistics hub, with an aim of replacing a third of our Western Sydney fleet with electric vehicles. The ‘Depot of the Future’ incorporates solar-panels, charging stations and a 1 MW battery energy storage system.

The facility supports a trial deployment of 60 electric trucks, positioned to revolutionise last-mile deliveries across metropolitan Sydney.

We are both proud and humbled to have received these awards and thank the 80 other organisations that were involved for their own commitments to sustainability.

Team Global Express has received support from the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) for the ‘Depot of the Future’ as part of the Driving the Nation Fund.
